Question:
How do I re-prime my feed pump?
Answer:
To re-prime the feed pump-
1. Turn on
water in house and leave running until the chemical feed pump
turns on.
2. While
the feed pump is running turn the knob on the prime valve (top
of pump with 2 tubes sticking out of it) towards the open direction
about a ¼-1/2 turn.
3. Solution
should now be running through the secondary tube that is exiting
the side of the prime valve and directed back into the solution
tank.
4. Monitor
the solution running through the tube for air bubbles. Let it
run until the air bubbles have ceased (should take about 15-30
seconds).
5. Once the
air bubbles have stopped then turn the knob on the prime toward
the closed position (the original position).
6. The pump
should be re-primed and you can turn off running water. Please
confirm pumping by checking the solution level over the next couple
days.
Feed pumps
that continually lose prime indicate there is a blockage in the
injection point/line. If this is the case please call for service.
Service should be scheduled at least once a year to prevent this
from happening. If you have any questions please feel free to
call.
